If you think Judas Priest has been around too long to still make an impact on the charts, you've got another thing comin'!  The band has just scored their highest-charting album ever on the Billboard 200 with their new studio effort, Redeemer of Souls , which debuted at #6 after selling 33,000 copies its first week of release.

Redeemer of Souls is the heavy-metal legends' 18th charting album overall, but marks their first trip into the top 10 of the Billboard tally.  The highest previous position the band reached on the chart was #11, with 2008's Nostradamus Redeemer of Souls also bowed at #5 in Canada, making it Judas Priest's highest-charting album in that country as well.

In other news, Judas Priest has added several dates to its recently announced fall North American tour in support of Redeemer of Souls .  The trek, which kicks off October 1 in Rochester, New York, now extends through a November 22 show in Tacoma, Washington.
