SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan Mayor Mike Vandersteen welcomed three newly-elected aldermen to the city council Tuesday night and then outlined a number of challenges facing the city, including developing the Boston Store property, pushing ahead with the city’s recently approved Master Plan, and making a decision on the Sheboygan Armory. Vandersteeen expressed confidence that the new council - along with the department heads and their staffs - will be able to meet the challenges and come up with solutions to improve the city of Sheboygan. Aldermen also re-elected Alderman Don Hammond as council president for the coming year. He encouraged aldermen to set aside differences and work together to move Sheboygan forward. Alderperson Mary Lynn Donahue was elected chair of the Committee of the Whole.
