MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The latest figures from Governor Scott Walker’s administration report Wisconsin’s budget surplus will be more than $759 million for the fiscal year that ended in June.
That’s up nearly $90 million from earlier in the year.
Gov. Walker called for a $100 million property tax cut last week, and now minority Democrats in the Wisconsin Senate say they will vote in favor of proposed tax cut.
The Legislature's Joint Finance Committee holds a public hearing on the measure Tuesday morning.
Senators are expected to vote on the measure later Tuesday.
An Assembly vote is due on Thursday.
