SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - Efforts to reduce the Sheboygan mayor’s salary have been tabled until the next meeting of the council after efforts to reduce it even further failed at Monday night’s Common Council Meeting.  Aldermen were set to vote on an ordinance to reduce the Mayor’s Salary to $61,500 effective in 2013, until Alderman Jim Bohren proposed an amendment to reduce the salary to $50,000 per year and, when that failed, tried again at the rate of $55,000 per year.  That vote wound up in a tie, and the Mayor voted, breaking the tie, and the motion failed.  The council finally voted to lay the matter over until the next council meeting.  Also, action on increasing Chief Administrative Officer Jim Amodeo’s salary by 7% failed and was referred back to committee.
