SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - On the fourth day of the Michael Moffett murder trial, the State rested its case after calling its final witness.
Sheboygan Police Detective Joel Clark was the State’s final witness, resuming the testimony he began Wednesday. During Thursday’s testimony, Detective Clark’s interview with Teiana Holmes, Moffett’s girlfriend at the time of the shooting, was played for the court. The playing of Holmes’ interview was deemed necessary following her testimony Tuesday during which she said she didn’t recall or remember much of what happened last March. It was during that interview when Holmes identifies Moffett as the shooter.
Once Detective Clark’s testimony was completed, the State rested its case. Defense Attorney Robert Wells began Moffett’s defense with his opening statements. Michael Moffett is expected to take the stand to testify in his own defense following Thursday’s lunch recess.
