Vinyl Diaries #3: Tame Impala - Innerspeaker

by Lucy Black

Forgive me fellow vinyl junkies, for I have sinned. It has been... days... LOTS of days since my last confession.

I finally took a moment for my sanity to listen to some of the new vinyl I'd picked up recently. Today's selection - Tame Impala Innerspeaker .

I love this album. It's a mood album. Think, trippy Beatles era late 60's. The organ speaks strongly of The Doors. Innerspeaker is a musical landscape that got plucked out of another time in rock history. It's so spacey at times that I feel like I'm having flashbacks, but I've never taken a hit of acid.

For Tame Impala virgins, I recommend starting off with I Don't Really Mind . It's one of my favorite tracks. Side D.
