Rumors have been flying since Van Halen cancelled the final 30 dates of their tour. According to a reliable source close to the tour, the issue isn't illness, injury, internal fighting or bad ticket sales. Instead, it's "fatigue". By the way, the source also said that the dates are being postponed, not cancelled. The source said: "The band is doing great with ticket sales. They're not fighting. They're just burnt and they want to take some time off. They got so excited and everything was going so well, they said, 'let's add more dates,' and I don't think they realized how tired they were. That may not sound like the truth, but it is." Van Halen still has 15 dates left to play. The last show they will play before taking a break will be June 26th. More

U2's Bono denied rumors that the Facebook stock market launch made him over a billion dollars. Bono owns shares in Facebook through his investment company Elevation Partners. When Mark Zuckerberg put his company on the stock market last week, it was reported that Bono's own stock was worth around $1.5 billion. But Bono told MSNBC: "Contrary to reports, I'm not a billionaire or going to be richer than any Beatle - and not just in the sense of money, by the way, The Beatles are untouchable - those billionaire reports are a joke. In Elevation, we invest other people's money – endowments, pension funds. We do get paid of course. But you know, I felt rich when I was 20 years old and my wife was paying my bills. Just being in a band, I've always felt blessed. I got interested in technology because I'm an artist." More

The full interviews can be found in Rolling Stone's "The Big Issue", available on newsstands now. Asked about progress on the new album, James Hetfield said: "I only have 846 riffs." Asked if that was an exact figure? James Hetfield replied: "In iTunes, you can see how many things you've got. And that does not include the soundchecks, the stuff we goof around with here. You plug in an amp. Suddenly it makes you feel good — you come up with a riff. 'Dude, did you get that?' You can't get away from being recorded here.” More
