The Red Hot Chili Peppers have released the video for their latest single, "Look Around," from their most recent album, I'm With You. The vid features the band members dancing and playing in different rooms: frontman Anthony Kiedis in a red bedroom, bassist Flea in a living room, drummer Chad Smith in a bathroom equipped with a boxing bag and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer in a spare room accompanied only by a lamp. Director Robert Halas told spinner.com that the video is the result of a true group effort. More

 

Kenny Olson, Kid Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker Band’s guitarist, has announced that he is going solo. His debut album, the self-titled Kenny Olson Cartel, will be released February 7th.  The albums lead single, "Up All Night," is available for free download at www.kennyolson.com. Olson performed and manned songwriting duties on Kid Rock's biggest albums including Devil Without A Cause, History of Rock, Cocky, Kid Rock and Live Trucker. More 

 

Former WWF champion Hulk Hogan revealed that he almost joined an early version of Metallica. Hulk used to be close friends with drummer Lars Ulrich during his days as a session musician. He told the UK Sun: "I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out." More and more 

Meanwhile METALLICA, SOUNDGARDEN, SLAYER, WITHIN TEMPTATION and MASTODON are among the confirmed bands for this year's installment of the Spanish edition of the Sonisphere festival, set to take place May 26 at Getafe Open Air in Madrid. More

METALLICA will also headline this year's installment of the Finnish edition of the Sonisphere festival, set to take place June 4 at Kalasatama in Helsinki. Also scheduled to appear are MACHINE HEAD, AMORPHIS, GOJIRA and GHOST. More

 

According to a posting on RATT singer Stephen Pearcy's Facebook page, the band is continuing to write material for its new album, tentatively due this summer. Before then, "there could be a few surprise shows." More and more

EUROPE have set "Bag Of Bones" as the title of their ninth studio album, tentatively due in April. Regarding the new CD title, EUROPE drummer Ian Haugland said, "It's not [called 'Bag Of Bones'] because we all have lost tons of weight or found a new interest in archeology or dogs... It's just because it sounds f*****' cool!" More
