Artisan News caught up with Ozzy Osbourne's wife/manager Sharon Osbourne last Thursday at The Grammy Foundation's annual Grammy Week preservation event and spoke to her about the current BLACK SABBATH drummer situation. When asked if Ozzy, bassist Geezer Butler and guitarist Tony Iommi have found a replacement for the band's original drummer, Bill Ward, she replied, "You know, I don't know. I honestly, honestly don't know. It's all up in the air. The one thing that is for sure is that SABBATH are in the studio with [producer] Rick Rubin and they are going on tour. That's all I know. And Tony is doing brilliantly well." More
Following the massively successful "Final Frontier World Tour 2010-11", IRON MAIDEN are back on the road this summer with a series of shows in the USA and Canada, including a July 5th Chicago, IL at the First Midwest Bank amphitheater. The "Maiden England World Tour" will closely mirror, in terms of production and content, the original 1988 concert video of the same name, shot on the "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Tour". In most venues, tickets will go on sale on March 2 and March 3 but watch the band's official site for fuller details. More and more
MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx has posted the following update: "Mötley Crüe and the Crüeheads have pretty much taken over Vegas the last few weeks... It really feels like we're riding the positive chaos right now. We just did a huge new photo shoot, were finishing up a brand new Crüe song for summer (that will lead to an full album after), European headline shows on festivals and in arenas too, but none of this would happen without you guys. SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo has revealed via his Facebook page that he and the band's guitarist, Kerry King, "have seven kick-ass songs" written for the group's next studio album. He adds, "You're going to soil your pants!!" More
VAN HALEN's new album, "A Different Kind Of Truth", sold 187,000 copies in theUnited Statesin its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. Topping the list once again is ADELE's "21" (with another 242,000 copies sold last week), which is spending its 20th week at No. 1, tying the mark set by the late Whitney Houston soundtrack for "The Bodyguard" in 1993.
