Dave Grohl is executive producing a new sitcom about a rock band in crisis. He teamed up with comedian Dana Gould, who will write and star in the project. It's being developed by the FX channel. The show will focus on a band on the verge of megastardom who fall out. In a last ditch attempt to stay together, they seek professional therapy. Unfortunately they end up with a weird couples counselor who is on the brink of divorce. More details will be announced soon. More
In a brand new post on his Facebook page, Slash writes (in reference to the solo album he’s current working on) "[It] looks like we'll be finished recording next week. Then mixing begins. It's all going on." Joining Slash in the studio are the previously confirmed members of his touring band: vocalist Myles Kennedy (ALTERBRIDGE), rhythm guitarist Bobby Schneck, bassist Todd Kerns (SIN CITY SINNERS, formerly of AGE OF ELECTRIC), and drummer Brent Fitz (formerly of THEORY OF A DEADMAN). "American Idol" singer Adam Lambert has reportedly told U.K.'s Daily Star that he will join the legendary British rock band QUEEN for a tour this summer. Lambert, who previously performed with QUEEN at the MTV European Music Awards last November, said that he had "no intention" of trying to replace the group's original frontman Freddie Mercury. "The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f****** great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of," he said. More and more
Steven Tyler says he meant to sing the national anthem like that. The AEROSMITH frontman and American Idol judge endured plenty of jabs after his rendition of the anthem at the AFC Championship game last month, but Tyler says he doesn't understand what all the fuss was about Tyler explained to the Associated Press: "I don't know. As I said before, I put emphasis on, 'In the land of the free' and I went up. Oddly enough I hit the note so I don't know what they are talking about. I emphasized 'free' which was for freedom. It was well thought out prior to. I wasn't messing with American tradition." More and more

In honor of Las Vegas' first hard rock residency, "Mötley Crüe In Sin City", Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman has proclaimed today as "Mötley Crüe Day." Bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following: "Nice way to start opening night and ourLas Vegasresidency here at the Hard Rock. When I was a kid I never thought all this would happen... what a crazy beautiful life. THANK YOU." More and more
Talking to HuffingtonPost.com's Andrew Burmon, bassist Nikki Sixx comments on the residency, stating: " I'm looking forward to it, but - to be honest - I don't love Vegas. I'm sober so it doesn't make sense for me. It is hard for me to appreciate. There are so many people there and so many people are drunk. Still, if you get outside of the city, the place gets pretty hip. We played a show outside the city last time around and it was very different. Not everyone was drunk. Evanescence singer Amy Lee will be the recipient of the Luella Bennack award at United Cerebral Palsy's 11th annual Women Who Care luncheon on May 3rd in New York. The Women Who Care luncheon is a celebration of women who have inspired others through their professional and charitable endeavors. Stated UCP "The committee has selected Amy for this award for her commitment to bring attention to issues of education and personal dignity of people living with a disability by serving as the international spokesperson for Out Of The Shadows.” More
The reactivated ORGY will embark on a U.S. tour next week. The trek is scheduled to kick off on February 10 and will stop at The Rave on February 28th. Joining vocalist and sole remaining original member Jay Gordon in ORGY's new lineup are Carlton Bost (DEADSY, THE DREAMING, LUNARCLICK) on guitar, Ashburn Miller (DEADSY) on guitar, Nic Speck (RUN RUN RUN) on bass and Jamie Miller (SNOT, THE START) on drums. The release date of the deluxe 25th-anniversary edition of KISS' classic fourth album, "Destroyer", has been pushed back to April 17. Gene Simmons also confirmed this week that the band was in talks for a Playstation 3 game, as well as a Kiss branded version of “Angry Birds”. More and more and more

QUEENSRŸCHE lead singer Geoff Tate kicked off his acoustic solo tour, billed as GEOFF TATE AND FRIENDS, on Thursday, January 26 at Anthology in San Diego, California. According to Tate, he is "playing acoustic renditions of songs from my solo album as well as some of my favorite QUEENSRŸCHE songs."
