There are big signs that an album and tour are in the works for Van Halen next year. A recent press release announcing a new deal between the group's music publisher and Eddie and Alex Van Halen said that the band "is currently in the studio recording an album with David Lee Roth that is due for release in 2011." Also, Van Halen's manager Irivng Azoff mentioned that Van Halen is expected to tour next year.
Soundgarden closed out this year's Lollapalooza festival last night by cranking out one grunge classic after another. The band also dug deep into its back catalog.
Playing only their third show since reuniting in April, Soundgarden recently announced that a new best-of collection called Telephantasm will be included with the purchase of the new Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock video game, which is due out on September 28th. A previously unreleased song called "Black Rain" is also part of it.
U2 hit the stage Friday night in Turin Italy to mark the comeback of the band and its lead singer Bono, who is fully recovered from emergency back surgery. The band had been out of commission for two months.
