Nevada is the first state to have self-driving car road rules.
More car manufacturers are working to develop technology that could let someone type in a destination and let the car drive there automatically. Some prototypes have already logged over 160,000 miles in test runs.
The technology is still years away, but lawmakers in Nevada couldn't wait. The regulations have been finalized and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles will have to come up with licensing procedures for companies that want to test their vehicles in the state.
